The Issues
Keeping us safe and Protecting our Natural Resources
Keeping us Safe
It's been an honor to serve the community for almost 27 years as a Deputy Sheriff.
As a Patrol Deputy and Detective, I witnessed firsthand what our Officers go through, and I will ensure that that they have the equipment, training and support they need to their jobs and administer law enforcement safely, with dignity and respect for all.
I am a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and I have established a great working relationship with the police union, which means that I am ready to get to work on issues that affect the safety of Sanford Citizens on Day One.
I'm committed to working and partnering with Sheriff Dennis Lemma and the Seminole County Sheriff's Office in advocating for common sense policies that benefit every citizen.
Protecting us from Terrorism
The 21st century has taught us one thing - that law enforcement and national security go hand in hand. We have an international airport in Sanford, and the safety and security of the airport is crucial in protecting our local and national interests.
During my career as a Naval Intelligence Officer, I specialized in Terrorism, Counterterrorism, and Intelligence and Counterintelligence. The War on Terror is on United States soil, and I am committed to keeping us safe as we live, work, play and worship here in Sanford.
My military accomplishments include being a combat veteran, being awarded the Global War on Terror Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and numerous commendation medals.
What that means for you is that I have the knowledge of what it takes to keep us safe from terrorism threats, and I am prepared to act on Day One.
Protecting our Natural Resources
Unchecked rampant growth has placed a tremendous strain on our natural resources.
We have bobcats and coyotes roaming our streets and subdivisions because they have nowhere to go.
Just this year alone, according to Central Florida News 13 and the City of Sanford, "Earlier in January, the plant located at Seminole Boulevard overflowed twice, spilling millions of gallons into the lake. It led to warning signs being installed telling people to not swim in the water or fish."
There are numerous reports of unsafe chemicals in our drinking water, and this is simply not acceptable.
Protecting our natural resources will be at the top of my list of priorities.
